2010 Election
Prolife Candidate Highlights

Congressional District 10
Peter Corrigan is the Republican Candidate who will run against incumbant pro-abortion Democrat Congressman Dennis Kucinich. While many prolife Christians in the Ohio 10th Congressional District beleive that Kucinich is a prolife canidate, this could not be further from the truth. According to Wikipedia " In 2003, however, he began describing himself as pro-choice and said he had shifted away from his earlier position on the issue. Press releases have indicated that he is pro-choice and supports ending the abstinence-only policy of sex education and increasing the use of contraception to make abortion "less necessary" over time." Mr. Kucinich drastically shifited his previous prolife position to enter his unsucessful 2004 bid for the Demoncrat Presidental nomination and has remained firmly supportive of all proabotion positions since that time (The congressman called Cleveland Right to Life at that time to inform us that he would be abandoning his prolife position). Project Vote tabulates his STRONG PRO ABORTION STANCE. Kucinich, who often mentions that he is Catholic, has voted against the Catholic positions on the prolife issue 100% of the time over the past several years.
In contrast, Peter Corrigan has strong pro-life credentials and will bring a new energy to the region that will not only reflect his pro-life position but will also help to alleviate poverty and joblessness in the region. In conversation with Peter and his wife, Cleveland Right to Life discovered a man with a deep conviction for the unborn and all human life coupled with a firm grasp of the business and social environment in District 10. Peter will restore integrity to the region.

Republican Party Platform Position on the Sanctity of Human Life:
Maintaining The Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life
Faithful to the first guarantee of the Declaration of Independence, we assert the inherent dignity and sanctity of all human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution, and we endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortion and will not fund organizations which advocate it. We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity and dignity of innocent human life.
Democrat Party Platform Position on the Sanctity of Human Life:
Choice
The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.
The Democratic Party also strongly supports access to comprehensive affordable family planning services and age-appropriate sex education which empower people to make informed choices and live healthy lives. We also recognize that such health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions.
